Aiming to become a leading R&D institution in the Asia-Pacific region, CGD collaborated with PolyU's School of Design and SD Plus to design the headquarters for the Hong Kong Microelectronics Research and Development Institute (MRDI). The design centers on the concept of a cohesion point — a hub where people, ideas, and activities converge. Visual references to this convergence point are strategically integrated throughout the workspace, with forms and patterns that echo semiconductor geometry. These design elements symbolically connect all activities back to the core mission of microelectronics, marking a new chapter for the field in Hong Kong.
